We wanted a better place to work. So we built one.

The best businesses are built from a personal need. In 2019, Michael and Gregg were working remotely.

Home was convenient, but isolating. Coffee shops got us out of the house, but weren’t great places to actually work.

And there wasn’t a coworking space nearby that felt like somewhere we’d want to spend our day.

So we created R5.

What started as a place to get some work done has grown into a community of remote workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs and small teams — all working alone, together.

Space Beliefs:

  • Design space intentionally

    Variety and comfort make the shell of a room into a place you want to spend time. That’s why we have options when it comes to where you set up to work.

  • Reclaim the second-space

    2020 forever condensed the third place concept. Home. Work. And somewhere in between. Became home all the time. We still believe the “second space” aka, the office, is important for connection.

  • Friendliness matters

    Offices aren’t always known for being friendly. We take caring about and for each other seriously.

  • People can’t live on work alone

    Work fills a lot of our days. Working alongside others adds a “focus-buzz” that’s catchy.

  • All workplaces are not created equal

    You can work at a coffee shop, your dining room table, or the library and get it all done. But none of those spaces were designed for the modern office worker. We’ve created a space that’s built for work.
